Time to play some more CiV

The engineers report that they have finished they’re work on the Louvre, and it’s time for the artists to move in. This is welcome news, as the extra culture will help our society develop. And more importantly, there is a lot of prestige to be had in controlling more wonders of the world than the other empires. may the Louvre be the first of many jewels in the Eruch Empire. Currently myself and Luther Griggs are vying for the most wonders, with, err, one apiece.

CiV: Empire of the Smoky Skies Part I

I see to enjoy playing around with less obvious strategy games: just as the latest expansion for Civilisation V comes out (Brave New World), I decide that I’d like to give Empires of the Smoky Skies a playthrough. This was one of the bundled mods/scenarios in CiV: Gods and Kings and if you haven’t guessed from the title, the theme here is steampunk.

Cryrus Rotheram. No relation to Miley.

I opted to go a random faction, and was given Cyrus Rotheram of the Eruch Empire (special power – speedy airships). I set the map to “Europe” (which should a random, but Europesque playing map) and the difficulty to King.
